In the past few months Stafford House
College have begun to host a series of International Cultural Evenings
that have been open to students, staff and the general public.
The first event, which attracted a packed lecture theatre was an
opportunity for people to learn the Traditional Japanese Art of Ikebana
(flower arranging). The second event, which provided a tribute to
ancient Indian cultures, included a authentic sitar recital, a taster
session of the traditional Indian head massage, an introduction to the
art of meditation through ‘Sahaja Yoga’ and authentic Indian snacks and
drinks.
The Vice Principal of Stafford House College, Rani Innes, who is herself
of Indian origin, arranges these events regularly and all proceeds go to
the charity chosen by the College students.
