On Friday 31st October international
students from
Stafford House College and
School of English spirited together to
conjure up some money for the BBC
Children in Need campaign.
After researching and studying British traditions, the students from more
than twenty countries around the world brewed up their own Halloween party
in their Oaten Hill campus. The event attracted around one hundred and fifty
students and produced £100 from face-painting, apple bobbing and the sale of
home-made African and Japanese foods.
Many of the students were not familiar with the festival of Halloween and
were very mystified to see their friends and teachers dressed as witches,
ghouls and goblins.
Chisa Kobayashi, one of the event organisers said: ‘We all had a great time
and enjoyed the opportunity to have fun and raise money for children’.
The prize for the best costume went to Drama student, Rashed Al Mansouri,
who spent his twilight hours preparing for his role as The Joker. |
